Just Move Forward

Salam.

Happy Wednesday to all! I decided to blog on Wednesday (which is, today), since I need some time out from my workloads. Four assignments to be submitted in 4 weeks time and let's pray that I can finish it on time. Yay!

And today I want to bebel about "Let the past be the past" or "Shall we move forward?".

It's November now and it has been two wonderful years for me to "appear" as a person who wears hijab. Alhamdulillah, still 'melekat' on my head. Only take em off when I'm with my girls or with my family at home and when I work out at the gym (or, home) and oh don't worry, ni gym for ladies only! Hihi.

The reason I tell you about all these, is because, I have decided to wear hijab and it is time for me to improve myself to be a better person than before. I need to be progressive in order to move forward and to stay committed with what I am doing right now (by wearing hijab) and I have no regrets about it. At all. I don't want to be the "same-old-same-old" Malina like two years back, and once I have decided to move on and move forward and leave all the bad things behind, all I'm asking you is just, LET THE PAST BE THE PAST.

I recently had a conversation with a friend of mine and also my other girlfriends about this. It is TOTALLY NORMAL for everyone to go through bumpy roads in life and those ups and downs, and sometimes you need a "wake-up call" to have the epiphany. (Epiphany as in, the some-what realization you feel and all of a sudden you feel like you need to change your way of life.) And at times, it also can be one of the ways God is sending or telling you or giving you signs that you can get more blessings if you changed the bad habit or the bad stuff you've made before. Remember, you are more than the mistakes you have made. So, improve. IMPROVE.

And by improving ourselves, sometimes people tend to get the wrong idea about you. Like, "Alaa, Malina tu pakai je tudung tapi perangai macam tu juga!" or... "Malina, kau ingat kau pakai tudung, kau boleh berubah ke? Kau perempuan jahat lah. Kalau dah jahat tu, nak ubah macam mana pun, tetap jahat." And yeap, people said that to me. Right in my face. But, for me, they are the one 'yang jahat' and lebih hina since sibuk nak kutuk and mengata orang yang berubah ke arah yang lebih baik while they are still there; no improvement and no progress.

So to all my loves out there, don't be afraid to do something good. Something that can gain blessings from Allah. It is not just good for you, but it is also the way to tell the rest of the world that you are improving for a better future, dunia and akhirat by doing indirect dakwah. Kan? Why not, right? Damn all those negative feedback from people. They can say anything about you whether good or bad, you cannot do anything about it. These people can have major negative influence on our lives if we allow them to. You don't have to like them, and you also cannot control how they feel about you, but you can control your actions and behaviour towards them. Even if they are being a jerk try to say things about you, just keep your behaviour classy and you will never regret it.

Been there, done that.

Eventually, they will get tired because you kill them with kindness! Instead of being rude or snarky (like what they did to you), try approaching them with kind attitude. You might be faking it on the inside, but try smiling and being polite. You might be able to diffuse a tense situation or keep things from escalating if you can act nicely and be civil towards them. They'll feel stupid if they keep trying to instigate a war when you're being friendly.

Don't let them get you down. No matter what you do or how hard you try, you cannot control how they act or think. Do not spend all of your energy worrying about your relationship with them or focusing on the negatives. It will only bring you down and they'll be winning. Focus on the good around you and the people who love you. Focus on the friends you have, the things you like about yourself and your accomplishments rather than obsessing over someone who you don't get along with. They can only get you down if you let them :)

Keep it up! Be classy, at all cost.

Much love,
Malina Azman x

Throwbacks

I can't really recall what I did for the past months, especially after I spent the first week of my trimester break in Pulau Kapas the other day. I have to go through my photo album in my iPhone to keep track on what I did, and now I'm like "Oh, I did that! I did this! Oh that day, oh that night!" LOL! So right now, since photos are still in my iPhone (Still don't have much time to transfer photos to my laptop! So sorry!), can I just update on what I did for the whole October with words instead? Maybe I could upload the photos later? :(

After my trip to Pulau Kapas, I went to East Coast again, this time to Kelantan pula. 3-day road trip in Kelantan and Kuala Terengganu with my mom and my sister. Then Daddy was in Malaysia for a week for Eid Adha. We went to Malacca, Zoo Negara, around KL to shop and eat and hang out and as usual, if Daddy balik, surely we gonna do our usual road trip and vacations.

On October 13th, Alhamdulillah, my friend Ika selamat diijabkabul with her husband, Aniq. The akad nikah happened at Ika's place in Dengkil and too bad I couldn't attend and witness the beautiful ceremony. And the wedding reception was held a week after at Bora Ombak in Ampang. Congratulations to both Ika and Aniq! You guys are such a cute couple! Be happy always and may Allah bless you both with lots of love, joy and happiness til Jannah. Amin :)

And what else yeah? Nothing much ever since Daddy went back to Doha and I continue my life in Cyberjaya. Attended classes and meetings, did my homework, studying and had fun with my friends, watched Thor and my fitness class every evening at 6pm and spent my time at Grand Hyatt KL. That is all.

And oh yes, today is November 5th, so happy 24th anniversary to my beloved Mommy & Daddy! Despite of your 8-year-old-long-distance-relationship, it definitely brings nothing but more love, more rezeki and more bless from Allah. Alhamdulillah. I am so proud to call and have you as my parents. You both are the best, always and forever. Thank you for everything, thank you for being so supportive, loving and caring and all-positive-things that I can learn from you both. I love you so so so so very much! P/s: To Daddy, I know you are reading this (Hihi.) we miss you! Thank you for being the coolest dad on Earth! Balik Malaysia cepat meh! Love you! Happy anniversary :) x

Hello November!

Now playing on my iPod: Lorde – Royals

Salam. Hello again. And again, I apologize for the ‘emptiness’ of this blog. It has been quite a while since the last I posted and updated things for Malinalism. Life has been so hectic lately and Alhamdulillah, thank you Allah that I have such tight and busy schedule. Yeap, thank you because I really like it when my schedule is so occupied so that I will never have weird and unnecessary thoughts in my mind. I will keep myself busy since I always think of weird stuff when I got nothing to do. I really hate that.

So how are you doing? How is your 2013 so far? Update, update! Thank you again for those readers yang so rajin to send me emails and messages on Facebook. So sorry yea since I got no time to update this blog and God knows how much I keep procrastinating to update this blog. And also thank you for those who followed me on Twitter, Instagram and Keek for the microblog update rather than to just sit and wait for me to type panjang-panjang thru this blog. Hihi. I will still typing things here though I have those microblogs thingy.

Quick update yea? Ehem.

For my previous post, the “Sweet Escape”. I went to Pulau Kapas in Terengganu with my girlfriend, Mija. I went there for 3 days 2 nights during my trimester break. It was a day after I finished my last paper; Artificial Intelligence. We went there by bus, bertolak around 11pm like that (I think?) and reached Kuala Terengganu at 5am. Soooo freakin’ early! Mija and I were so sleepy but so excited at the same time. We grabbed a breakfast and jalan kaki to get a cab. With backpacks on our back and walked around town in the morning, with birds chirping and morning dew and also the breeze were just perfect to start an amazing day. Lucky enough, after half an hour of walking, we finally found a cab. Off to Merang Jetty and waited for a boat for like an hour. And hello, Pulau Kapas!

I was speechless, cannot believe that we actually have such beautiful island with crystal clear water and colourful fishes in Malaysia! Yeap, we were just that ‘jakun’. Checked ourselves in, and rest. Kapas Island Resort serves us with such awesome services and the staffs are so friendly. We had lunch and went for our first day of snorkelling. Had a great day, we were there for less than 24 hours and yet we felt like we were there for a week already! So many fun things to do in a day and you feel like the time goes so slow! We had fun, totally.

Day 2. Snorkelling again and snorkelling and anything to do with jungle and sunlight and beach and the ocean and the boat. And eat. Spoiled, we were a couple of spoiled brats, sunbathing and swimming with fishes and shades on like all the time. LOL!

Day 3… Let’s just put this way; WE HAD FUN! And saying goodbye to a beautiful island was the worst part. Mija and I were like, “Babe, let’s get back to our normal life. Bye, Pulau Kapas. Hello, KL…”.

Reached Merang Jetty, bought keropok lekor for Mommy (I think all of KL people will singgah to buy keropok lekor or satar or batik or anything in Terengganu before they went back to KL. Betul tak, my beloved KL lights? Hihi.)

Reached Kuala Terengganu, our bus scheduled to gerak to KL at 11pm. So while waiting for the bus, we decided to merayau around town. My beloved friend, Tasha brought us, drove us around town til late evening. Went to her house and checked out her own boutique and my friend’s sister came to culik us for dinner. (It is so freakin’ awesome when you have friends around the globe! LOL!). Thank you Tasha and Kak Iznee for your kindness and hospitality to treat us both like a princess. Hihi. Again, we had a great trip. Definitely gonna do it again! This time, Sipadan Island pula okay, ladies!
